HabitSpark is designed as a local-first iPhone app and website. This policy explains how HabitSpark handles app data, website visits, Apple services, backups, notifications, and support messages.

Summary

  • HabitSpark does not operate its own backend for your activities, sessions, Spark balance, or settings.
  • HabitSpark does not include third-party analytics, advertising, marketing, or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • Most HabitSpark data stays on your device unless you choose to export a backup or contact support by email.

Controller and contact

For privacy questions, contact support@habitspark.app.

Information stored on your device

HabitSpark stores the following information locally on your device:

  • activities you create
  • session history
  • Spark balance and related settings
  • onboarding state and preferences
  • Insights preferences
  • notification preferences

This information is used to run the app and is not sent to a HabitSpark server.

Where privacy law requires a legal basis, HabitSpark processes information only for limited reasons:

  • to provide the app and website, including local device storage and core app functionality;
  • to respond to support requests you send;
  • to comply with legal obligations, including purchase, tax, accounting, or consumer-law obligations where they apply;
  • to protect the app, website, and users from misuse, security issues, or technical problems.

Because HabitSpark does not run an app backend, most app data is processed only on your device.

What HabitSpark does not do

  • HabitSpark does not include third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or marketing SDKs.
  • HabitSpark does not send your activity history, sessions, settings, or Spark balance to a HabitSpark backend.
  • HabitSpark does not track you across apps or websites.

Website visitors

The HabitSpark website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type, device type, time of request, and the page requested. Those logs are used to keep the website available, secure, and troubleshoot problems.

If you follow an App Store link from this website, Apple receives the request under Apple’s own privacy terms.

Services HabitSpark uses

  • Local device storage to save your activities, sessions, settings, and onboarding state.
  • Apple StoreKit for subscriptions and purchase restoration.
  • Local notifications if you enable reminder-style awareness features.
  • Files or iCloud Drive if you choose to export or import a backup file through Apple’s file picker.
  • Cloudflare Pages to serve the public HabitSpark website and keep basic request logs.
  • Cloudflare Email Routing and Proton Mail to receive support emails you choose to send.

Apple, Cloudflare, Proton Mail, and your own email provider process information under their own privacy terms when you use their services. Some providers may process information outside your country or the European Economic Area under their own terms and applicable transfer safeguards.

HabitSpark does not use automated decision-making or profiling for legal or similarly significant effects.

Support communication

If you email support, we receive your email address, the message content, and any attachments you send. We use that information to answer your request, document the conversation, and improve support. Support email is handled using Cloudflare Email Routing and Proton Mail. Your own email provider also processes the message under its own terms and privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

  • On-device app data remains on your device until you delete it, overwrite it through an import, or remove the app from your device.
  • Exported backup files remain wherever you save them, such as Files or iCloud Drive, until you delete them yourself.
  • Support emails are retained in your mailbox, your email provider’s systems, and the support inbox used to answer your request.
  • Website request logs are retained according to Cloudflare’s retention settings.
  • Apple may retain purchase and transaction records under Apple’s own policies when you buy or restore a subscription.

Because HabitSpark does not maintain a server copy of your activity history or settings, there is no separate HabitSpark cloud account to access or delete at this time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including if you are in the European Economic Area, local law may give you rights to request access to personal information, ask for correction, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a copy of information you provided, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To make a privacy request, email support@habitspark.app.

You may also complain to your local data protection authority if you believe your rights have been violated. If you are in Czechia, you may contact the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, at uoou.gov.cz.

Your choices

  • You can disable notifications in HabitSpark or in iOS Settings.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account.
  • You can delete the app and any exported backup files if you want to remove locally stored HabitSpark data from your devices and storage locations.

Children’s privacy

HabitSpark is not directed to children. If you are under the age required by your country to consent to online services, use HabitSpark only with permission from a parent or guardian. In Czechia, this age is 15. HabitSpark does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted support or provided personal information, email support@habitspark.app.

App Store privacy disclosures

HabitSpark’s App Store privacy label states that the app does not collect data from the app itself while the product remains local-first and does not add a backend, analytics, crash reporting, cloud sync, or new third-party SDKs. If that changes, this page and the App Store disclosure will be updated.

Changes to this policy

If HabitSpark adds features that change how data is handled, this page will be updated before or when those features ship. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date.
